Tony Allen is among the world’s most acclaimed kit drummers, famed for having co-created afrobeat with Nigerian bandleader Fela Kuti during the 1970s and currently enjoying a late-flowering renaissance in his seventh decade. Although he knew nothing of Jimi Tenor beforehand, Allen was one of five artists Tenor told Strut he would most like to work with when they approached him.The session was mixed down at Tenor’s studio in Fnland and Berlin, lending a distinctly dubby but vintage classic sound to the set, helping to erase any blatant time markers and make this the Electric-Afrobeat-Jazz-Fusion classic that never happened, until now!

The Swing was born in the early 20th century and developed in the 1920s, until the late ’50s. Swing was more of an approach to play in a Jazzy way rather than a style of its own, but it soon surpassed it’s initial origins. Swing music became … Full Descriptionsynonymous with swinging, dancing and moving! It took 50 years to rediscover this musical genre, but thanks to the modern Electronic movement, much of Swing’s original excitement has been reinvented and reinvigorated in the new millennium. The Swing was created to dance, and it’s marriage with Electronica increases its power and energy to seduce a new audience. Electro-swing brings the Swing’s joy and warmth to Electronica’s vitality and energy. Enjoy!!!!!
