A wonderful full length debut from Bei Bei on Ubiquity -- collaborating with the kaleidoscopic hip hop funk instrumental stylist Shawn Lee -- and they make a great team! Bei Bei plays the guhzheg -- a traditional Asian string instrument that often spins harp-like sounds -- in unison with the sounds of Shawn Lee, we get a timeless mix of astral and soul jazz atmosphere with a boundary free funk backdrop. Overall it bridges the breakbeat funk and Asian sounds that influenced everything from classic Wu Tang to modern underground funk instrumentalists of all kinds, and the more spiritual jazz sounds of Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby. It includes a couple of excellent numbers with Georgia Anne Muldrow on vocals, "Make Me Stronger" and "Willingness" -- and the whole set is strong, one of the best hip hop era takes on eastern string inspired jazz funk we've heard in a long time! El austriaco Marcus Füreder, mucho más conocido como Parov Stelar, es una de las mayores revelaciones de los últimos años. Es un nuevo talento que está dando muchas alegrías a los amantes del jazz electrónico. Su música, descrita de manera sencilla, es una fusión de samples de jazz clásico (sacados de grabaciones de los años 20, 30 y 40) y beats entre house y breakbeat o, en palabras del austriaco, “la libertad del jazz combinada con el groove del house y breakbeat”. Es una personal y lograda combinación de jazz y electrónica, tan interesante cuando se trata de producciones para las pistas como cuando son temas downtempo pensados para su escucha doméstica.

Parov Stelar aka Marcus Füreder is a musician who lives and works in Linz, Austria. His style is characterized by the freedom of jazz combined with the groove of house and breakbeat. He performs as a DJ worldwide, where his sample-heavy remixes borrow enough from both modern beats and 1930s jazz as to be appropriate for both the dancefloor or the easy chair. His creative blends of old and new sounds have lead some to describe his music as steampunk or neo-Victorian. Parov Stelar is the head of Etage Noir Recordings.

Su nombre significa Viajero en somalí.El 3 de Diciembre de 2009 se anunció en Sudafrica que había sido elegida como himno para el mundial de fútbol que se realizará en ese pais en el 2010.
